Ever since I was a little girl, I've always had extremely thick hair. I can remember going to friends houses when I was young and having to get their moms to brush out my hair and put it in a pony tail because it was too thick for me to handle on my own LOL!

Over the years, I’ve had many different cuts and color. I went through 2-3 years of being super blonde with highlights all over.  I would wash my hair everyday, blow dry it without any type of product, and then spend an hour minimum flat ironing it [ who remembers this pin straight hair fad?! ] . It was in its very worst condition and really took a toll on the long-term condition of my hair. Now, it's  much thinner but slowly growing back to its original healthy state.

About a year ago, I got extensions and am back to my natural color! Kendall Whaley at Signature Designs [ hair Insta: @paintyourwave ] in Clearwater, SC does my hair. She does a blunt cut with long layers and always parts in the middle before cutting. I got extensions for a little extra length but mostly volume. Since getting them, I've had them cut from 24 inches to about 20 inches. I’ve linked mine here: BOO-GATTI 24”.  For color and length reference, my natural length is around 20 inches and I am the shade "Ash Brown". I did a good bit of research before purchasing. Since I no longer color my hair and/or switch up the cut often, I thought these would work best for what I was wanting!

Aside from the assistance of extra hair, I wanted to share a few products I feel have truly made the biggest difference in my hair over the past few years.

Kendall uses this shampoo + conditioner every time I visit her and I absolutely love it. I also keep this shampoo + conditioner in my shower when I want to switch it up! Both brands are sulfate/alcohol-free and smell amazing! I use this leave in serum all over (mostly at my ends), totally swear by this volume spray for texture, and then a blowout spray all over. I only wash my hair 1-2 times a week and LIVE on this dry shampoo. Mostly because it's so inexpensive and the amount of dry shampoo I go through in a week is a bit aggressive. I've tried higher end brands like IGK and Oribe, both of which I love and recommend if you're in the market for a higher end dry shampoo. For me, I prefer the finish Hask and Dove leave in my hair, as well as the price!

I use a very basic curling iron that I've had for several years now and still love it! I've also used this BaBylissNano iron a few times before -- Check your TJ Maxx because they carry them often. This hairdryer is definitely on my wishlist!!

I am planning to do a step-by-step blog post and/or an Insta-video on how I curl my hair since that's what I get asked about most! I would love to hear feedback on which you prefer to read/watch!
